(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - The First SermonIn the first sermon, His Eminence, Sayyed Ali Fadlullah, took the opportunity of celebrating the birth anniversary of Imam Ar-Rida to shed light on one of his Hadiths and explain the significance of believing in the oneness of Allah. It is the Hadith known as the Golden Chain which says:“Moussa Bin Jaafar (a.s.), my dignified father once quoted the words of his father Jaafar Bin Muhammad As-Sadiq (a.s.), who in his turn related the words of his father Muhammad Bin Ali (a.s.), who narrated the words of his father Ali Bin Al-Hussein (a.s.), who likewise quoted Al-Hussein (a.s.), the Master of the Youth residing in paradise, who directly quoted the Holy Messenger of Allah (p.), who narrated the words of Gabriel (a.s.), who quoted the Divine words of the Exalted Lord as follows: “There is no God but Allah, the One, is My stronghold in which the reciter of this Holy verse can enter and then he will dwell there safely, and will not suffer My wrath.”This Hadith summarizes the unification of Allah which is the goal of Islam and all Messages. Although Allah does not need our recognition of His oneness, it is necessary for us to understand how the universe is run and to secure our place in Heaven. In short, the oneness of Allah brings us together under His rule and His system. Unification is the essence of life and the source of all the graces that has been bestowed upon us.Nevertheless, Allah’s rule is not like that of the rulers on earth. It is His stronghold or fortress that the people resort to in order to ensure their safety. Allah does not talk about His oneness without talking about His Mercy and His good names. Thus, it is a call for us to adopt the morals of Allah and not to be like the tyrants on this earth who once they assume power, they become ruthless and unjust.Furthermore, when we testify that there is no god but Allah, we renew our commitment not only that we will not ascribe partners to Him, but also that we will not go back to the age of Jahiliyya (the pre-Islamic era).Yet, it is shameful that there are some people who behave as if they are God’s partners on earth and decide on who should go to Heaven and who should go to Hell. They act as if Allah has not guided anyone else. Those people destabilize life, no matter how good their intentions are.The second sermonIn the second sermon, His Eminence, Sayyed Ali Fadlullah, commemorated the 31st anniversary of the Sabra and Shatila massacre. He advised us not to forget it, for it is a living witness on the criminality of the Zionist enemy. He also focused on the recent Zionist aggressions against Al-Aqsa Mosque which are met unfortunately with complete Arab and Muslim silence. He called on the Palestinians to unite to face the enemy and advised the Arab and Muslim peoples to play their role in not allowing the enemy to execute its plots in Al-Aqsa Mosque and in Palestine in general. He also noted that the negotiations with the Zionist Enemy have become useless and meaningless, having dominated 45% of the lands of the West Bank.In Syria, where the bloodshed continues and the country has become a hostage for the struggles and understandings of the big powers, the Sayyed called on the Syrians to understand that these powers seek only to promote their own interests, which should be a motive that drives them to find a solution. The Sayyed welcomed the return of the warmth to the Saudi-Iranian relations, since it is very vital for solving several Islamic tensions and maintaining unity in the face of the common challenges. He also called on the Bahraini authorities to review the latest moves they took, such as arresting moderate leaders, for such moves only harm the country and its image. The Sayyed welcomed the initiative of the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament to renew national dialogue, hoping that it would lead to the formation of a new government that would find social and political solutions, especially now that relying on the external powers has failed. /129
